These pictures were taken in Rwanda during my two-week stay in June 1997. Please refer to my Rwanda story for a description of my journey and some reasons why I visited the tiny nation known almost exclusively for having experienced one of the worst human-rights violations of the 20th century. As of April 1, 2004, I have taken down pages once published here (bibliography, links pages, background material).
