Auschwitz I gate

 

The Nazis frequently hung meaningless slogans on camp entrances. No one who entered the camps was decieved by hollow promises, like the motto "Arbeit Macht Frei" (work is liberty or work makes you free). No one was ever released for working hard or for good behavior.
