The Belzec death camp was one of three "Operation Reinhard" facilities for murdering Jews established in eastern Poland. Victims were gassed to death with carbon monoxide immediately upon arriving by train. About 600,000 persons were murdered here between 1942 and 1943. The camp gate was built after the war.
