Dr. Joseph Mengele, the most famous German doctor who performed criminal experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz-Birkenau, performed criminal experiments on dwarf and crippled Jewish patients here in 1944. Before him, SS Dr. Horst Schumann did forced sterilizations of Jewish prisoners in this same building, barracks 15 in Camp B11 of Birkenau. |
