Birkenau Visitors

Visitors to the International Monument to the Victims of Fascism at Birkenau include a former prisoner, Tadeusz, (middle) who miraculously survived his stay; Tadeusz's childhood friend, Aleks (right), who emigrated to Israel after the war; and Aleks's grandson, Doron, in the foreground. Aleks and Tadeusz are explaining to Doron the genocidal murders that occurred at gas chambers, where Aleks's family members and friends were killed by the Nazis.
