Birkenau, Tracks To 'The Ramp'

At Birkenau, where hundreds of thousands of mostly Jewish prisoners were unloaded from rail cars and sent to gas chambers for immediate executions, rail lines were built to the "ramp" inside the camp in the spring of 1944 to help speed up the mass murder of the tens and tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews who were arriving for extermination at that time.
