At Buchenwald concentration camp, Nazi scientists and doctors performed numerous criminal experiments on live patients in this medical room, located in the crematorium building. Experiments ranged from injecting prisoners with deadly typhus and the spotted fever virus to poisonings. Dissections occurred in this room. Victims also were skinned by Nazis, and their skin was used to make book covers and lamp shades.
