The Warsaw Jewish Cemetery has nearly 100,000 headstones, most unkempt and overwhelmed by a thickening forest. In the cemetery, one is struck by the vibrancy of Poland's Jewish culture and traditions, all extinguished in the Holocaust with millions of Polish Jews. This stone was built in memory of Stefania Mosin, who died June 20, 1929 at the age of 43 -- perhaps a better fate than to await almost certain murder less than 15 years later under the Nazis.
