Above the city of Dogubeyazit, Turkey, sits the Isak Pasa Palace, dating from the late 1600s. It is believed to have been built by a Kurdish chief to help tax the Silk Road, which ran by the area, near Mt. Ararat. Upon closer inspection, one can detect several spires that bear an uncanny resemblance to Armenian or possibly Seljuk structures, which likely were built over for the palace.
